Kai de Mello-Folsom (Web Developer / Guest Artist)

Kai de Mello-Folsom is excited to be returning for his 9th year at KAT. Currently pursuing a double-major in Theatre Performance and Film Production at Chapman University in Orange, California, Kai is learning to split his time not only between two coasts but also between performance and behind-the-scenes production. He is, however, thrilled to be considered a "guest performer" this summer as he returns to KAT Kabaret's Putting it Together and Mainstage's The Wizard of Oz as the Scarecrow. In Kai's many summers at KAT, he has performed in a variety of roles, most notably "The Beast" in Beauty & The Beast and "The Cat" in Seussical in addition to assisting with Publicity, Graphic Design, Front Office, KAT Dancers and Chorus, managing the KAT Box Office, and finally designing the new KAT Company Website. Outside of KAT, Kai works as an award-winning performer, videographer and artist, and has recently had the distinctions of performing with theatre greats like Carol Channing, as well as being selected as a top finalist in Fox Network's National "Storyteller" TV competition for his direction and performance in his original TV pilot, "Reel to Real," coming to local California television next year. Kai is a provost scholar, talent-scholarship recipient and on the Chancellor's List at Chapman University.
