I hope you will be a part of Kabaret and/or Youtheatre, not to mention all the other great performing groups and classes. Experience the KATMOSPHERE!!!!

 If you are past performing age (over 18), but have been a part of KAT in the past, please set aside Sunday, July 29 to join us at 12:30 PM in the theatre to learn a musical number you can join in with for our final show. We will create some amazing memories this summer!

Greetings! I am writing to you with great excitement about our upcoming KAT production of Peter Pan. I am delighted that you will be joining us as we work together to create this classic Broadway production. I know that we will build many memories and
friendships through our time together.

We will be holding auditions a little earlier this year, on Saturday, June 4th at the beautiful Foxstand Estates in Springfield, NH as the high school is busy until we begin KAT. Directions for Foxstand are below.

From I-91 North
Exit 7 (Springfield, VT) OR Exit 8 (Ascutney, VT)
follow Route 11 EAST through Sunapee to George’s Mills.

into George’s Mills Road (at intersection of I-89)… follow another 1.5 miles to stop sign.

I look forward to working closely with each of you this summer and auditions are the first chance I have to see you in action. Please wear comfortable clothes as you will be dancing and moving. We will be auditioning children on June 4th at Foxstand Estates in the following age groups and times:

8 & 9 year olds will audition from 9-10:30AM on June 4
10-12 year olds will audition from 11-12:30PM on June 4
13-18 year olds will audition from 1:15-3:00PM on June 4

Auditions will consist of getting measurements from our wonderful costumers, learning a small piece of dance choreography and a piece of music from Peter Pan and then dancing and singing for myself, the choreographer and the musical director. In order to finalize casting, we will hold additional auditions on Tuesday, July 5 if needed. It would be great if as many of you as possible could attend June 4, particularly those of you interested in major roles. The more cast members we can meet, the better. Final casting decisions, with the exception of Peter Pan (Ben Kace) and Captain Hook (Tim Johnson) who have been pre-cast due to the size of their roles, will not be made until the late afternoon of July 5, our first day of Youtheatre. There are lots of great parts in this production and everyone will be challenged. There are some speaking/singing pirate roles, some speaking/singing lost boy (and girl) roles and the Indians have to be super dancers as the choreography is complicated. In addition, we will be casting Wendy, Tiger Lily, Smee, Mrs. Darling, John and Michael. Participating in Peter Pan is a chance for everyone to improve their dancing, singing and acting.

A note to both children and parents…as in all KAT productions, we make every effort to challenge all the children and I consider all parts to be important. It is important that you come to KAT with a positive attitude, ready and willing to enthusiastically throw yourself into whatever part you are given. Based on how fun ETC’s Peter Pan was, I know that everyone will have a great time, regardless of your role. The pirates, Indians and lost boys all have songs and dances. There can only be one Wendy and one Tiger Lily, even though we have many many talented individuals at KAT. EVERYONE will be very busy in order to pull the show off in the short time we have.
